Melanie Luckes uses private laboratory testing to help her patients get to the bottom of their health issues. She mainly uses the functional medicine lab Genova Diagnostics, based in the UK and USA, and has used this form of testing for the last 18 years.
You can also purchase some of these tests through our supplement shop, take the kit home, follow the instructions and send your sample off to the lab.
Certain tests will need a blood sample which you can arrange to have taken at your GP surgery.
Some of the tests are very self explanatory e.g. Vitamin D levels. However if your health issues are complex and you require advice on which test(s) would be appropriate, or need your results interpreted and explained, please book an appointment with Melanie, and she will be happy to help you with this.
Below Genova Diagnostics laboratory explains how you could benefit from being tested.
“With the dawn of the new millennium, medicine has increasingly taken on a broader and deeper perspective about what health really means. Our understanding of how the body’s systems work together, of the importance of nutrition tailored to an individual’s body, and of the substantial distinction between genetic disposition and genetic expression continues to grow rapidly.
Unlike traditional labs that focus on disease pathology (or what made you sick), Genova Diagnostics offers comprehensive panels that combine standard and innovative biomarkers designed to provide a more complete understanding of specific biological systems that can help physicians understand how their patients can achieve optimal health.
As more patients take an active role in managing their health and as more practitioners focus on prevention, our diagnostic tests provide the most complete picture of health that can help identify problems before chronic conditions and diseases develop.
Genova Diagnostics is dedicated to providing you with the information you need to understand these developments and the diagnostic tools it requires to take full advantage of them. Our laboratory tests are available only through licensed healthcare professionals such as Melanie Luckes. She uses our tests to identify methods for her patients to achieve optimal health.”
